A good wife should want her husband to be happy. A really good wife should go with her husband so she can be in his world and see what makes him tick. If she isn't willing to do that, then she is probably selfish especially if she expects him to do things with her he probably wouldn't do on his own.

Yep! Wife & both kids come along to the camp 90% of the time. I market it as "quality family time." And honestly, it is.

I'm glad my wife and I have different interests when it comes to hobbies. We would drive each other nuts if we did the same things.

Every relationship /marriage is different.

Seems that ideas, expectations and desires should be spelled out between individuals as a relationship develops.

If not, it's gonna be a tough road to navigate.

Speaking with 50 years of hunting while married experience:

Hunting don't have to be a marriage problem unless you turn it into one.

Moderation prevents a lot of problems in most anything. Most of that stuff she listed ain't necessary for hunting anyhow.

Expensive toys should be at the bottom of the spending list for both of you. God's part should be at the very top.

Time spent alone ain't a marriage problem ... it can make a marriage stronger and your relationship with God stronger if it's done right..

This......it's not a complicated concept. MrsGomer grew up in a family that hunts/fishes. Her dad/granddad/uncle were always in bass clubs and hunting clubs. She's accustomed to it. I hunted when we met. The only time it every approached being an "issue" was when the kids were little (like infant/toddler). I obviously limited how much I was gone during those times or at least made sure her mom was available to assist if needed if I was gone. Now, when I go hunting, I tell her where I'm going and [generally] when I expect to be back (usually "dark:30") and that's that. As long as things that need to get done around the house don't get left undone, it's never been an issue.

First of all, I don't spend money on guns and hunting. I do however invest money in firearms, ammo and training. There's a difference

When I take the kids hunting, am I babysitting?

It’s not that complicated, make sure you know each other before you make a commitment. Treat her like you want to be treated.
My GF can go hunting, fishing, or anything else I do, just get in the truck, No bitchin!

Today she agreed and laughed at All the post. Her and her hubby ride Harley’s send time on the road a lot. He does ride all day with and without her. We give her hell and she dishes it out. She knew I posted it and wants to join and stir stir stir. Keep it positive all have a great new year. Her hobby of leather always eating lunch and supper on the road and a new bike every 3 years or so. Kinda of our hobby of in the woods.
