From the place where golf originated and a test of golf which is heavily influenced almost every day by the winds and weather, St. Andrews once again is the site of the 150th British Open. The first round is under way this morning. Who have you got as the potential winner?

Too early to tell but the scores today are very low. One guy was -7 after 13 holes. Gonna be eagles galore and record low scores if the conditions stay as they are. Most guys are driving the greens on the par 4s.

Without the wind, not much they can do other than pile up the scores. I don't blame them. I'd want to get to 7 or 8 or even 5 or 6 just in case the wind started kicking up tomorrow or on the weekend.

I saw a guy hit a shot and his ball landed, then bounced-rolled another 100 yards. The fairways were running faster on the Stimp than the greens. Nothing new but that's crazy to think about.

American Cam Young leader is leader with a -8, 64. Rory -6. Tiger struggling at +4 after 4 holes

The late morning starters are struggling as the wind has started picking up. The early birds are definitely at an advantage today. The conditions are super firm and the fairways are rolling like a walmart parking lot. If you can flight the ball down in that wind, even a headwind will not kill your distance.

Tiger had a double bogey on #1, so it's not starting out well for him.

I watched a little bit early this morning(Insomnia)...Thats the ugliest course I guess I ever seen...just rolling hill after hill with no trees at all...

I have a feeling that Australia’s Cameron Smith may be the pony to watch. Currently tied for 3rd at -5 for round 1.

John Daly shot 1 over 1st day - he got a huge beard and was sporting a masters logo 😀

My pick of Cam Smith came out birdie, birdie, birdie on the first 3 holes of round 2.
Daly is paired with DeChambeau today, so that would be an interesting pair of big hitters to follow.
I’m jealous of this 60-70 degree temps they are playing in this week. Is fall close yet?

Wish Daly could do something crazy and shoot good - would create lot of excitement

He was hardest person to get around in the 92 masters practice round - even harder to get close to than Jack - Jack way bigger name but at one time - Daly was a huge draw

Tiger waking up to the 18th green right now. Will it be his last competitive round at St. Andrews? He obviously will not make the cut here this week at +9 after the second round, but great to see him still grinding.

I think he’ll be back, but feel he’s probably lost too much physically to contend again. But hey, He’s still Tiger Woods and a legend of golf.

I watched again this morning, while he was walking around, wood's face kept cringing and squinching up...... He dont want to be there any more than I do....

Cam shot 8 under par 64 today and has the lead by 3 shots with 2/3 of the field finished today. The man's putter is making the dough.

The Auzzie Mullet will have a shot if the wind doesn't pick up too much.
