As has been stated already, get bigger than you need. Guns in safes are funny and more hilarious are the claims of how many certain models will hold. Some 80 gun safes I’ve looked at might hold 80 pistols, or 30 rifles, or 22 scoped rifles. Also decide where you are going to put it and how it will be installed. Logistics may make two smaller safes more doable. As for budgeting; I have 23 rifles in my safe and almost every one of them is more valuable(replacement wise) than the safe I bought to store them.

Try Tractor supply- I got a 36 gun safe that holds about 15 long guns and six pistols I like.2 people can load/unload it off a trailer. It is branded as a Winchester with a keypad entry/ key back up. 45 minute fire rating but it is mostly to make it hard on thieves/ kids to get to my guns I don't expect it to survive the apocalypse. I figure if my house burns to the ground or a tornado flattens it what am I going to do with a huge/ indestructible safe anyway? stand guard over it until I can get it moved?
all that stuff is replaceable - and who doesn't need a reason to buy a new gun .

Safes when you factor in scopes accessories etc hold 1/2-2/3 less than advertised

They’re not all made the same for sure. I have a good one and a cheap one. No comparison.
There’s a good video on YouTube if I can find it.

I second this. I have Fat Boy Jr. from Liberty. Great safe, just wish I had went bigger.

Don’t just look at xxx degrees but also to the time it’s rated for ( 60min, 90min etc) and the additional security features. In my opinion it doesn’t make sense to save a few hundred dollars buying an inferior safe to protect thousands of dollars of guns. That doesn’t even take into account sentimental value on some pieces. Buy quality and have true piece of mind and not a false sense of security. Liberty’s replacement warranty is top notch.

Anybody ever heard of a house burning down and the guns in ANY gunsafe made it unharmed? I havent. There have been some pictures on here of guns in good safes after a fire. They all looked about the same. As if they had been in an oven for an hour, which is exactly where they were.

My house is on a slab, so no issue there..as for moving..i will have to cross that bridge when i get there i rekin..i moved several big ones including one that held a hundred plus guns an weighed like 1500lbs..it took all day to get it out the house..im prepared to take care of that. Im in a budget..and id lime to stay within reason and if there is some zero percent intrest deal i might finance a nicer one..or multiples if the deal is good..im just gonna have to shop around. I want at least an 80 gun safe with a slide out and a mechanical dial..but they bout $5k😬

Sure have. Easy to search and see plenty of pictures where the guns survived. It’s not guaranteed they will survive a fire or that they won’t. I also carry extra insurance to cover the loss if they don’t survive. No two house fires are the same. I stand by my statement that I think it’s foolish to save a few hundred dollars and buy an inferior safe. The risk isn’t worth the reward.

There's another thread in here about quality or cheap. You can get one or the other when you buy a safe, but not both.

Go for quality when you buy.

I recently got another safe and I paid for quality. American Security 42" w x 72"h. Walls of the safe are 11ga steel filled with 2" of concrete and the door has a 1/2" thick steel plate on the outside.

If you want to steal it, better bring some friends and pack a lunch.

Check at Haley's Interiors in Huntsville. They have a good bit of Liberty Safes.
