Behind some dogs
Been 7-8 years since I done may trapping, already have a few traps, “older sleepy creek”. I was looking at the number 2 Montgomery, and the MB 550.

Looking at a dozen or so of em to set around the house. What’s the best yote trap for the money now days? Thanks

That 550 gets great reviews. I use a #2 bridger dogless. I’m new to trapping and haven’t caught much (2 bobcats, 1 coyote, and had a coyote pull out).

I’ve got the mb 550’s and some of the duke 650’s. 550’s definitely seem better built but cost a little more, I’ve caught stuff in both so no complaints

I can't tell much difference between the mb550 and Duke 550. I like them both but have acquired more mbs than anything. I like mb650 alot to. They bed really nice with both jaws locking down

Recently had the chance to handle some Freedom Brand Alpha dogless. Same jaw style as the MB550 but with a dogless pan. Nice thing about these is the pan latches on a projection on the bottom of the jaw rather than the top like a Bridger. The Duke 550 is budget friendly and about the only difference between it and the MB550 is the pan shape, both use a SS rod style dog. The K9 extreme's are very well made.

Any of the above will catch and hold coyotes. Just set on good sign, bed them well and blend carefully.

"Cull" is just another four letter word...

I run MB 550s and really like them. K9 extreme looks good also but I’ve never used them to give a review. I do think my next dozen will be something dogless to see how I like it.

Make that 3 coyotes and 2 bobcats for the bridger #2 dogless

If I can set them, anyone can

Although those k9 extreme look really good too. Biggest thing there is no prep work
