I picked up a box of Hornady 6.5 129gr interlocks today to load some rounds for my Grendel. Only powder I have on hand right now is H335 and I found a load for it. I measured out the load of 24.8grs of 335 and had to seat the bullet to 2.15 C.O.A.L. I loaded 3 rounds to start. Remember I’m new to all of this. I went to my bench and shot them at 100yds. I don’t have a chrono yet so I have no idea what the velois but I can tell it’s a light load by the total lack of recoil. However they shot fairly decent for me being nervous about blowing my face off. I think I’m going to enjoy this new adventure. I found a local shop that has a pretty good supply of different powders. I’m gonna try to get there Monday and get the recommended powders for these bullets. My first 3 shots. [Linked Image]

Great... you're hooked now.

You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?

Comgrats, nothing wrong with that group. Looks to be about 3/4 moa or a little less. H335 is a good powder and with that group you might try a little stronger charge and tighten it up a bit more. Just watch for pressure signs. I was scared to pull the trigger on the first round I loaded too.

Looking good! You may as well get yourself a chronograph. Easy for me to spend your money but, I figure things usually grow more expensive over time. Just be safe and work your loads up slowly. Do a search for optimal charge weight (OCW) and ladder testing if you haven’t already done that.

Definitely going to get a chronograph. I’m slowly getting all the essentials I need. Now that I have my bench built and getting things organized, it’s time to start stocking up on components as I can find them. I’ve been researching many different load data sites and have a couple manuals on the way. I think I may have started something here!!

I’ll say this too. Save up or whatever and get the best you can. Otherwise later on you’ll have a bunch of stuff you outgrow.
The best thing I ever bought was an automatic powder dispenser. They’re pricey but one of the best things I ever bought. I coupler for years with a plastic spoon onto a digital scale. Now if you’re only loading a few loads that’s more than adequate. I load bismuth and steel shot that’s why I jumped at one.
