Any suggestions if traveling from Prattville where would be a good place to launch on Millers Ferry? Closest to Prattville appears to be the ramp at the Sand bar in Selma? Also see Portland public use area, very remote though. Looking for close and “safe” vs maybe trying to find the best areas to fish. Thanks!

Another vote for Bridgeport. The City of Camden has really invested in that facility.

Bridgeport is the answer here. Very nice facility.

Thanks for the responses. I have heard others say good things about Bridgeport Landing. Just curious though if anyone has any experience with the two boat ramps in the OP (Sandbar in Selma or Portland)? Both are 30-40 miles closer to home, and would be nice to save the drive time if these are decent.
Thanks again The Selma Area is river run. The actual lake area that most would consider Millers Ferry is a run down river from there. If that's actually what you are wanting to fish, you would probably be better off driving to Bridgeport and spending riding time and money in the truck not boat. If you don't care, Selma city is fine.

If you don't care, Selma city is fine. Makes sense. Apologies for any confusion. Yea, I was primarily just thinking about getting on the water somewhere south of RF Henry Dam. With all the weekend tournaments and boat traffic around Prattville I thought we might venture into some new water. Was thinking it might not be quite as crowded at least that far up river (my thinking may be flawed though). Good to know the ramp at Selma is an option. Appreciate the info!

It's been a while since I put in at Portland, but it's a decent ramp and it's close to a lot of good fishing. I always liked that area for summer fishing over the section around Camden. The ramp is isolated, and that could be an issue.
