I've got one or at least I think that's what it is, that's in rough, rough shape. Rust all over it, BUT it still functions like it should. I'd sell that sucker for half that, in a split second.

Y'all Bad mouthing them but I got one when I was 14. I averaged running a brick of shells a week thru it for years. Hauled it all over the Delta, mud, water and bouncing around in my aluminum skiff. Killed hundreds of squirrels, coons, nutria and even a couple deer with it. They used to have Turkey shoots in Daphne back in the early 70's with 22 rifle's. I couldn't begin to tell you how many turkey's I won with that gun. Finally one of the grown men went and bought a target 22 so he could beat me. he still didn't all the time. Mine still sits in my closet, looks rough but still shoots every time I pull the trigger. Its main duty these days is shooting Armadillo's in the yard. For 53 years old she still earning her keep.

Chris McCandless took a Nylon 66 to Alaska with him on his ill-fated 1992 journey. It was his only rifle for the wilds of that state. He survived about 3 months, if I recall. But that rifle never failed him. He even killed a small moose or caribou with it.

I would love to buy one especially the black and chrome. That was the first gun my dad taught me how to shoot with. He got in a bind and needed some money and sold it. Wish I had know before he did. That was almost 20 years ago. It’s just a sentimental guy for me and brings back memories of my dad.

Was my first .22 at age 14. NEVER jammed. However, it wasn't very accurate. Had a quality scope on it.....get it dialed in hitting a quarter sized bullseye......few rounds later it might be off 2 to 3 inches. Still got it though. Few years later bought a Browning BLR and it's a tack driver with the scope I took off the 66.

This was my grandfather's Nylon 66. When he passed away, it came up missing. Come to find out, my nephew helped himself to it, even though when he was asked he said he didn't know anything about it. Im trying to find the serial # to see when it was made but haven't found anything on the gun where all of the nylon 66 sites are showing it. It may pre-date the Gun Control Act of 68 and not have a SN

Cool

When my granddad passed - some of my cousins just walked around his house taking stuff. I was kind of shocked! Items where not on my mind at that time! Always struck me as trashy - funeral just completed. I did not think of grabbing stuff then and if you did - maybe talk to everybody first so it does not appear as just taking without considering everybody else

Grew up shooting a Nylon 66 with open sights. No telling how many rounds I shot through it. Walked many a miles with it in my hand through the woods where I grew up.

Even though there’s more than one around here, I’ve never been much of a fan of the plastic guns. There’s less to like without the wood.
