On a 2004 Yamaha Big Bear, there are to cable that run to the bottom of the carb. Both are electrical and I think they are their own harness. Anybody have any ideas on what this cable/harness is called?

You can see the gas dripping out of the carb a little in the pic. I am order a rebuild kit as well.

I can't tell squat from that picture, but the wires running to carburetors are usually for an electric choke. Does your bike have an electric or manual choke?

It's a tps..throttle position sensor. They send signals to the cdi.

The electrical wires? Why are you replacing them?
If they are messed up or cut I'd just rewire it with a new piece and crimped on connectors.

As far as "cables" there's only two going to your carb...chock and throttle.
Not sure i understand what you're asking.

Probably a shut off valve. If the valve doesnt get voltage it shuts off fuel to carb.

There are 2 wires....one is yellow and one is black. Both are shown in the pic. The yellow one was taped into place because the rubber "boot" that is suppose to hold it on to the carb is gone. You can see part of whats left, but the rubber should run all the way up onto the carb. I was to replace the yellow and black wire so I will have to rubber that hold it into place.

Oh ok...what's under that wire? It should be a nipple sticking out that the wire clips onto correct?

looks similar to this correct? The male one? You crimp on a new female like on the right to go on it. As far as the boot as long as it's secure with the above connector it's not a necessity.

I have a 2002 big bear 400 4x4 I don't know if you know this or not but they have a 15w carburetor heater. On a cold engine, turn the key on and leave it on at least 30 seconds before starting. With key on engine off, the carb heater will start to heat the carb a little bit which helps get that cold fuel atomized better. Once that engine is running and warm, there's enough radiant heat from the engine to warm the carb sufficiently. Number 46 on diagram in the below link. http://www.yamahapartshouse.com/oemparts/a/yam/5003904ef870021f60a0ce25/carburetor

The terminal for the carb heater.

I see what you're saying now. Most likely that connector goes into the main wiring harness so there may not be a replacement for just that wire. I would talk to a dealer and explain to them what you need. They will have a parts blow up on a computer screen to look at. See if they can get you just that replacement boot.

Do you have any idea what it is for? I could probably get some good heat shrink and make it work as long as there isn't another problem
